El cuerpo como paisaje

The body as landscape

This series gathers portraits that return to me over time. Some are drawn from memory. Some from observation. Some feel imagined but familiar. They appear without planning, as if they insist on being seen.

These faces connect me to where I come from. They carry traces of family, neighbourhood, and shared history. Painting them is a way of staying close to those early influences while allowing the figures to stand on their own.

In this chapter, the body becomes a terrain shaped by experience. Each person holds a presence that feels both intimate and distant. Through them, portraiture becomes less about likeness and more about recognition.
