El sabor del pescado
The taste of fish
This series was born after a return to my native Córdoba, Argentina, during a fishing trip with my son. The images carry the smell of the river, the weight of the catch, and the quiet moments that happen between casts.
Here, fish become more than their bodies — they are markers of place, class, and memory. The works weave together scenes of belonging and dislocation, of life and death by the water’s edge. Colours are bold, lines deliberate, echoing the heat and texture of Córdoba’s streets and riverbanks.
Through these pieces, the fishing trip becomes a lens: for revisiting the past, confronting loss, and finding where we fit within the stories we inherit.
